Marnie's counseling style is founded in a strength-based, client-centered approach utilizing EMDR, Brainspotting, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Marnie also believes in the importance of drawing upon creativity and humor in the counseling process.
Marnie is a Certified EMDR trained therapist and EMDR Consultant in Training. EMDR is a brain-based therapy and serves as a powerful therapeutic technique used to help individuals process emotionally painful and traumatic experiences. When using the standardized EMDR protocols in conjunction with other therapeutic skills, clients can reprocess painful past experiences and move toward peace an resolution.
